Part III
19. Beg to God for your good deeds, the good deed is the best intercessor for you in this life and the hereafter if you were faithful doing it.
20. Be an importunate slave to your Lord by refining the mention of Him, which is the greatest request to answer duas. The urgency indicates the sincerity of desire, and God loves the urgent in prayer. You should know that the one who is always knocking the door is always near to an open one.
21. Assert in your duas and determine the matter. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "You must not supplicate: 'O Allah! Forgive me if You wish; O Allah bestow mercy on me if You wish.' But beg from Allah with certitude for no one has the power to compel Allah."
22. Start with yourself, and then pray for your devoted parents, Muslim brothers and other fellow beings.
23. Attend to the councils of Zikr, God responds to the prayer of those who attend the Zikr councils, and forgives them with the blessings of their attendance. God says: "I testify you, my angels that I have forgiven them." One of the angels says: 'Our Rubb, there is amongst them such and such slave who does not belong to the assembly of those who are participating in Your remembrance. He passed by them and sat down with them.' He says: 'I also grant him pardon because they are the people by whom their associates will not be unfortunate'." Narrated by Ahmad from Abu Huraira (R).
24. Be one of them - God responds to the distressed one if he asks Him, and the oppressed one even if he is wicked or a pagan, and those who pray for their brothers in Islam, parents who pray for their children, the just Imam, the traveler until he returns, the patient until he is healed, and the fasting person until he eats.
Finally, do not think that your duas are disappointed if you do not see an answer.
Perhaps Allah did not answer you, because he has avoided you from the Affliction you do not know.
Perhaps He did not answer you to delay it, to add it to the span of good deeds on the Day of Judgment.
Perhaps He did not answer you because He wants to hear the insistence in your duas… so keep asking Him.
